Peter Crowhurst is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, appointed by the Board of Directors to the role in December 2018.

Peter has a wealth of experience, having spent the past thirty years working in Asian Markets. Initially Peter worked in Hospitality at General Manager level, in Hong Kong and China, but moved on into Real Estate, becoming an Asset and Investment Manager with ING. In this role he supported real estate development and investment projects in China and Taiwan. During his time in with ING and latterly CBRE Global Investors, Peter was responsible for portfolios in Taiwan and Singapore, with assets in excess of USD 650 Million.

Peter’s relocation to Myanmar was orchestrated through Yoma Strategic Holdings, whom he joined in 2013 when based in Singapore. Peter moved to Myanmar full time in 2014 as Head of Real Estate Asset Management at Yoma Strategic.

While at the Chamber Peter aims to support British business, together with the UK Government Department of International Trade, bringing investment and trade opportunities to Myanmar. Peter will also focus on developing initiatives, alongside the Chamber team, for bi lateral trade from Myanmar to the United Kingdom. One of the top objectives of such initiatives is job creation and benefits for Myanmar citizens.

Peter was part of the founding team that established the British Chamber of Commerce and has served on the board for the last five years since its inception.

Ms. Eaimt Phoo Phoo Aung has over 10 years of experience in management consulting and international cooperation. She has worked with a number of Myanmar and foreign government bodies, trade associations and chambers of commerce, multinationals and Myanmar companies, advising on strategic market entry and growth strategy, trade and investment potentials, regulatory matters, public policy and government relations, and strategy implementation.

Ms. Aung holds a strong track record in initiating and fostering strategic dialogues between Myanmar and International businesses, having successfully led over 30 high-level economic delegation visits to and from Myanmar, including Myanmar President's visit to the UK in 2013, and arranged over 400 business meetings in the past 3 years. She previously managed a 4-year, £2million economic development programme fund in Myanmar.

Besides, she has chaired Learning & Development Committee of the British Embassy to promote leadership and managerial skills and strengthen organizational development with regards to diversity, gender equality and zero-tolerance on bullying and harassment. She also takes part in local and regional business forums as a female business leader from Myanmar, and has published articles and delivered conference presentations sharing her insights on leadership, strategy and business development.

She is an inaugural Fellow of the Asia Foundation from the United States. She pursued Graduate Courses on Governance, Leadership and Public Speaking in the UK, and in Europe. She holds Master Degrees in Political Science, Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor Degrees in English.
