Aung San, Bill Slim & The Forgotten Allies of WW2

Sampan Travel will be hosting a coffee morning with the British Chamber of Commerce, looking at the Burma Campaign of WW2.

In February/March 2025, Sampan is running their Beyond the Chindwin WWII tour of Myanmar.

Led by historian Dr Robert Lyman, this journey explores what happened in Burma during WWII: the arrival of the Japanese; the retreat and return of the British armed forces; and the role of General Aung San and the ethnic groups who fought on both sides.

Please join us to discuss Burma 1942-45, and how it led in part to where the country is today.
