His Excellency Dan Chugg
British Ambassador to Myanmar at British Embassy YangonThe Ambassador represents Her Majesty The Queen and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
Daniel Chugg took up his post as British Ambassador to Myanmar at the end of May 2018. Dan is married with 2 children.

Peter Beynon
Country Chairman, Myanmar and Cambodia at Jardine Matheson (SEA) Pty Ltd. (Jardines)After graduating from Bristol University, Peter joined PwC’s London office and qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 1981 and subsequently embarked on a career in commerce that has focused on family businesses.
Post qualification he spent over 20 years with the Jardine Matheson group working in a number of senior finance and management roles in Asia and the Middle East, including significant periods in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. He worked as the Finance Director of several listed and private companies during which time he led a number of major corporate acquisitions and the development of joint venture business initiatives in emerging markets.
Peter then embarked on a career in consultancy, leveraging his diverse chartered accountancy skills in international and emerging market environments. He became the first non-family Managing Director of the esteemed Al Fahim Group based in Abu Dhabi in 2005, before joining as a partner of HBG a private equity firm based in Dubai in 2008. In 2012 Peter was engaged and successfully led the expansion and development of the ICAEW Middle East operations in the Middle East.
In 2014 Peter was re-engaged by Jardine Matheson to head the group’s development of its business portfolio in Myanmar and Cambodia.
Peter also holds the position of Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar.
Peter Crowhurst
Chief Executive Officer at British Chamber of Commerce MyanmarPeter brings a wealth of experience, having spent the past thirty years working in Asian Markets. Initially Peter worked in Hospitality at General Manager level, in both Hong Kong and China. Following on Peter moved into Real Estate, becoming an Asset and Investment Manager with ING. In this role he supported real estate development and investment projects in China and Taiwan. During his time with ING and latterly CBRE Global Investors, Peter was responsible for portfolios in Taiwan and Singapore, with assets in excess of USD 650 Million.
Peter’s relocation to Myanmar was orchestrated through Yoma Strategic Holdings, whom he joined in 2013 when based in Singapore. Peter moved to Myanmar full time in 2014 as Head of Real Estate Asset Management at Yoma Strategic Holdings.
Peter was part of the founding team that established the British Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar and has served on the board for five years before taking up the role as CEO.
