Peter Crowhurst is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, appointed by the Board of Directors to the role in December 2018.

Peter has a wealth of experience, having spent the past thirty years working in Asian Markets. Initially Peter worked in Hospitality at General Manager level, in Hong Kong and China, but moved on into Real Estate, becoming an Asset and Investment Manager with ING. In this role he supported real estate development and investment projects in China and Taiwan. During his time in with ING and latterly CBRE Global Investors, Peter was responsible for portfolios in Taiwan and Singapore, with assets in excess of USD 650 Million.

Peter’s relocation to Myanmar was orchestrated through Yoma Strategic Holdings, whom he joined in 2013 when based in Singapore. Peter moved to Myanmar full time in 2014 as Head of Real Estate Asset Management at Yoma Strategic.

While at the Chamber Peter aims to support British business, together with the UK Government Department of International Trade, bringing investment and trade opportunities to Myanmar. Peter will also focus on developing initiatives, alongside the Chamber team, for bi lateral trade from Myanmar to the United Kingdom. One of the top objectives of such initiatives is job creation and benefits for Myanmar citizens.

Peter was part of the founding team that established the British Chamber of Commerce and has served on the board for the last five years since its inception.

He has over ten years of consulting experience across a range of sectors including automobile, power, manufacturing & agriculture.

He completed MBA from FMS, Delhi in 2011. Since then, He has delivered services to clients from Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Germany, India, China, and Thailand by advising them on Investment opportunities in Myanmar.

He has advised clients on all aspects of business strategy, mergers, and acquisitions, corporate finance, operations, and family business and governance.

Mark Livingston is an Australian-qualified lawyer and the founder and Managing Director of Mission Legal, an independent corporate legal practice with an exclusive focus on the Myanmar legal landscape. Mark’s career spans 20 years of varied corporate, commercial and projects work in Myanmar, Australia, Singapore and around Asia. He has lived and worked in Myanmar full time since 2014, and is now based in Naypyitaw. Mark has a broad-ranging legal practice in Myanmar, spanning across market-entry and general operating and regulatory requirements; foreign investment licensing processes; major commercial contracting; project and concession agreements; formation of joint ventures; company incorporation and company secretarial compliance; share and asset acquisitions and pre-investment due diligence; Myanmar land due diligence inquiries; and employment law compliance. He has extensive experience in managing and resolving legal, regulatory and operational issues in developing markets, with a focus on natural resources projects, executing fundraising transactions, and implementing good corporate governance and compliance practices. Mark also has significant previous experience working in in-house roles, in particular in listed resources companies with South-East Asian assets.
