Peter Crowhurst is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, appointed by the Board of Directors to the role in December 2018.

Peter has a wealth of experience, having spent the past thirty years working in Asian Markets. Initially Peter worked in Hospitality at General Manager level, in Hong Kong and China, but moved on into Real Estate, becoming an Asset and Investment Manager with ING. In this role he supported real estate development and investment projects in China and Taiwan. During his time in with ING and latterly CBRE Global Investors, Peter was responsible for portfolios in Taiwan and Singapore, with assets in excess of USD 650 Million.

Peter’s relocation to Myanmar was orchestrated through Yoma Strategic Holdings, whom he joined in 2013 when based in Singapore. Peter moved to Myanmar full time in 2014 as Head of Real Estate Asset Management at Yoma Strategic.

While at the Chamber Peter aims to support British business, together with the UK Government Department of International Trade, bringing investment and trade opportunities to Myanmar. Peter will also focus on developing initiatives, alongside the Chamber team, for bi lateral trade from Myanmar to the United Kingdom. One of the top objectives of such initiatives is job creation and benefits for Myanmar citizens.

Peter was part of the founding team that established the British Chamber of Commerce and has served on the board for the last five years since its inception.

Puneet Bahl joined the Corporate Partnerships team at WWF International in 2017. Based in Singapore, he supports and advises network offices on the development and management of partnerships with private sector companies to drive sustainable business practices that help deliver WWF’s conservation goals. He also supports the Global Partnerships Committee in its decision-making on key partnerships and coordinates the implementation of strategic projects on its behalf.

Prior to joining WWF International, Puneet worked for over 30 years in the Consumer Goods and Retail Banking sectors with large multinational corporations – Unilever, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, Royal Bank of Scotland – in various roles across Asia, the Americas, Europe and Africa. He has had first-hand experience in building and restructuring businesses and developing and executing cohesive regional strategies across diverse markets or segments. He holds an MBA from Delhi University and enjoys movies and travel.

Egan is a global partnerships and communications panda at WWF International who works on helping corporates around the world address their environmental footprint and organise cause-related marketing campaigns to raise awareness and funds for nature conservation. He also acts as the lead in gaming industry engagement for WWF and has a particular passion for circular economy. Prior to WWF, he was a humanitarian and development specialist for seven years responding to more than 15 crises around the world and addressed disaster risk reduction for marginalised communities in Asia.

Mu Mu Htay is currently working for Tha Bar Wa project as a Cleaner Production Advisor of a WWF project partner, Myanmar Food Processor and Exporter Association (MFPEA) since the beginning of the project (2018) where much of her roles involves communicating with SME owners and conducting baseline assessments at F&B industries. And by collaborating with
Tha Bar Wa Project staffs and other partners, she facilitates capacity building in cleaner production (CP) practices, water and energy management, wastewater treatment methods, energy efficiency audits /solutions including green finance for partner banks etc.

Thiri Thant Mon (CEO of Myanmar Institute of Directors)

CEO of Myanmar Institute of Directors

Thiri Thant Mon is CEO of the Myanmar Institute of Directors and Head of ESG for Fixed Income at Morgan Stanley EMEA. She serves as board member of British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar and trustee for Turquoise Mountain Foundation, a UK charity that focuses on heritage preservation countries such as Afghanistan and Myanmar. She has held a number of leadership roles over her 20-year career as a finance and capital markets professional, most recently as Managing Partner of Pegu Partners. Thiri has a strong interest in building societal vibrancy and sustainability and is the organiser of TEDxYangon. She holds a BA in Economics from William & Mary and an MBA from the London Business School.
