Jane is a highly experienced commercial & marketing leader with extensive knowledge of the telecom, digital, e- commerce, retail, and entertainment industries.
Born and educated in Scotland she spent many enjoyable years living in London before working in an interesting range of countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East( including India, Malaysia, Qatar, UAE, Thailand, Nigeria, South Africa, Australia). She has been living in South East Asia for the past 10 years and is currently based in Cambodia.
She has been in the role of Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce Cambodia since March of 2021 and along with her wealth of international experience brings her energetic and enthusiastic style to raise the profile of Cambodia as a superb opportunity for investment and growth for British owned and British run businesses.
Peter Crowhurst is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, appointed by the Board of Directors to the role in December 2018.
Peter has a wealth of experience, having spent the past thirty years working in Asian Markets. Initially Peter worked in Hospitality at General Manager level, in Hong Kong and China, but moved on into Real Estate, becoming an Asset and Investment Manager with ING. In this role he supported real estate development and investment projects in China and Taiwan. During his time in with ING and latterly CBRE Global Investors, Peter was responsible for portfolios in Taiwan and Singapore, with assets in excess of USD 650 Million.
Peter’s relocation to Myanmar was orchestrated through Yoma Strategic Holdings, whom he joined in 2013 when based in Singapore. Peter moved to Myanmar full time in 2014 as Head of Real Estate Asset Management at Yoma Strategic.
While at the Chamber Peter aims to support British business, together with the UK Government Department of International Trade, bringing investment and trade opportunities to Myanmar. Peter will also focus on developing initiatives, alongside the Chamber team, for bi lateral trade from Myanmar to the United Kingdom. One of the top objectives of such initiatives is job creation and benefits for Myanmar citizens.
Peter was part of the founding team that established the British Chamber of Commerce and has served on the board for the last five years since its inception.
Hugh is based in Phnom Penh and is a Director in the regional Acclime Business Development team. His role is to assist clients of Acclime to understand the local rules and regulations as they look to establish their businesses in jurisdictions across Asia, with a particular emphasis on Cambodia. Given his prior experience of spending over 25 years in tax structuring in Investment Banks, he can assist clients find the optimal structure for their expansion into Asia. Prior to moving to Cambodia and joining Acclime, Hugh spent 14 years in Singapore, most recently at Vistra for 4 years as the head of the Corporate Services Business Development team. Prior to that, he ran the Asian regional Structured Solutions and Securitisation team for ING Bank, which involved putting together tax effective investment structures and efficient funding structures for clients in the region. An Australian by birth, Hugh commenced his career at Peat Marwick, before spending 17 years at JPMorgan Chase in Sydney, first as head of tax for Australia and then ultimately leading the Asia Pacific Structured Finance team. Hugh is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Sydney. He has also successfully completed the Diploma in Cambodian Tax and Diploma in Cambodian Business Law courses at the Cam-Ed Business School in Phnom Penh.
Matthew became Managing Partner in February 2021. Prior to joining SokSiphana&associates, Matthew was the Managing Partner for 12 years at Sciaroni & Associates, a leading international law firm in Cambodia. He has however, been working in the legal sector in Cambodia since 1994. He was formerly a legal advisor to inter-alia The Asia Foundation, Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (East West Management Institute Cambodia) and the University of San Francisco Cambodian Law and Democracy Project.
