Peter brings a wealth of experience, having spent the past thirty years working in Asian Markets. Initially Peter worked in Hospitality at General Manager level, in both Hong Kong and China. Following on Peter moved into Real Estate, becoming an Asset and Investment Manager with ING. In this role he supported real estate development and investment projects in China and Taiwan. During his time with ING and latterly CBRE Global Investors, Peter was responsible for portfolios in Taiwan and Singapore, with assets in excess of USD 650 Million.

Peter’s relocation to Myanmar was orchestrated through Yoma Strategic Holdings, whom he joined in 2013 when based in Singapore. Peter moved to Myanmar full time in 2014 as Head of Real Estate Asset Management at Yoma Strategic Holdings.

Peter was part of the founding team that established the British Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar and has served on the board for five years before taking up the role as CEO.

Charles was a seasoned finance sector professional before deciding to pursue a long-held interest in social finance. This led him to undertake a series of projects with social organizations in Qatar, Ukraine, Myanmar, and Thailand. These projects included supporting two microfinance institutions as a Kiva Fellow, developing income share agreements for higher education financing at Wedu, and working on a series of innovative digital social finance initiatives.

Prior to joining WWF Myanmar to head the Sustainable Finance Programme, Charles was the director of the Qatar office of The Social Investment Consultancy. He is experienced in investment and wealth management in the GCC countries, where he was based for over 15 years.

Charles holds a Master’s in Islamic Banking, Finance & Management from the University of Gloucestershire, a Bachelor’s in Commerce from the University of Madras, as well as certifications in green finance, ESG investing, microfinance and social investment advisory.

Jo Ann Bueno-Eala is VP and Head of BPI’s Sustainability Office, which oversees the development and execution of ESG and SDG-related goals, policies, and initiatives of BPI and its subsidiaries.

Jo Ann headed BPI’s Sustainable Development Finance (SDF) program which covers energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate resilience, green buildings, and sustainable agriculture projects. Under SDF, BPI provides free technological consultations and training sessions, financial advice on project viability, as well as free environmental risk management solutions for sustainability projects of both big and small companies, a first in the Philippine banking industry. BPI is also first to comply with GRI, IR, SASB standards for reporting, and it also 1st to support TCFD among Philippine banks.

Jo Ann holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and an Economics degree from the University of the Philippines where she garnered academic, leadership and service awards.

Anil Mancham is the CEO of KBZ MS General Insurance where he responsible for driving transformation and growth. He is a seasoned insurance professional with a wide experience covering multiple countries and different aspects of the insurance business.

Anil started his career in the Netherlands as a consultant in the Retirement Practice of William M. Mercer specialized in developing and implementing retirement schemes for institutional clients in addition to advising multinationals on various actuarial and pension matters. He subsequently moved to ING Group and held various positions across multiple countries, starting at ING Group’s head-office in Amsterdam.

His work covered insurance, banking and asset management operations. Anil moved to Tokyo in 2002, where he built and lead the risk management team for ING Life Japan’s Variable Annuities business. In 2004, he moved to the Malaysia where he took up the position of Vice-President Product Marketing for ING Insurance Berhad. This assignment was followed by the role of Regional Functional Head of Product Approval and Review at ING’s Asia-Pacific Office in Hong Kong.

Upon relocation to Singapore, he took up roles as Vice President Strategic Planning & Strategic Initiatives Office and Wealth Management with AIA Singapore, Regional Head of Products with Aviva Asia and Vice President Asia Retirement with Pramerica Asia Headquarters. This was followed by an assignment as Vice President Strategy for Prudential Life Insurance Company of Korea.

Anil has a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics (graduated Cum Laude) from the University of Twente, Enschede (the Netherlands) and a Master’s in Actuarial Science from the University of Amsterdam. He is a Fellow of the Dutch Society of Actuaries.

Based in Myanmar since 2012, Paul serves as the Country Technical Lead for UNCDF Myanmar. Previously he served as the Senior Operations Officer covering the East Asia and Pacific region for the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Before that he was a microfinance implementer serving as the CEO of AMK in Cambodia.

Paul has more than 28 years of development experience; playing a variety of roles from implementer, Technical Assistance provider, funder, board member and equity investor. Paul holds an MBA from Eastern University and has also been a part of the writing of a number of books and articles including the first assessment of the microfinance sector in Myanmar which was published by CGAP.

Paul is passionate about ensuring that inclusive digital economy benefits clients, in particular the most vulnerable including women and girls. He served on the Social Performance Task Force board and was a founding board member of the SMART campaign.

Nyi Nyein Aye is CEO and co-founder of ThitsaWorks, a FinTech based in Myanmar. ThitsaWorks was founded in 2016 with a belief that poverty can be solved using tech as a tool — if the unbanked have access to capital, they’re more empowered, and better able to retain the returns of their labor and rise out of poverty.

Nyi has 20 years of experience at the United Nations Headquarters in New York prior to founding ThitsaWorks where he managed IT operations for the United Nations global conference management services. He received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Economic Policy Management from the Columbia University and a Master of Science in Information Systems and Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Investment from the City University of New York.

Nyi is a member of Digital Financial Services Working Group in Myanmar, and was listed in Top 100 Fintech Southeast Asia Influencers of 2019 by LATTICE80.

Ma Khin Mu Mu Myint is a highly accomplished senior executive with over 20 years of progressive experience in commercial banking, strategic partnership, corporate development, product development, financial management, corporate governance, and restructuring and transformation for Fortune 100 and privately held companies in various industries.

In her role as Chief Business Banking Officer, she will specialize in driving our strategy to be the Bank for all businesses in Myanmar.

During her time at Yoma Bank, she was involved in founding the Commercial and International Banking Division including the development of products and services, and successfully launched multiple business units across the Bank.

Prior to this, she held roles in a number of significant US organizations such as Freddie Mac, World Bank, Citi Group, JP Morgan, and Prudential Insurance as well as local conglomerate entities.

Nicolas is the founder and managing partner of Yever, a Myanmar sustainability consultancy. Before, he used to lead the Sustainability Advisory team of EY (Ernst & Young) in Paris. He has strong consulting experience, helping the largest French companies to include ESG components in their corporate strategy. He specializes in fostering a conducive corporate culture, engaging stakeholders meaningfully, developing messages that enable companies to communicate their results, and in improving the sustainability of their business model. Nicolas chairs CCI France in Myanmar and is the former chairman of EuroCham in Myanmar.

Brad Jones (CEO of Wave Money)

Brad Jones is the Chief Executive Officer of Wave Money, a role he has held for the last five years. Wave Money is a fintech joint venture in Myanmar owned by Telenor Group, Yoma Strategic Holdings and Yoma Bank. Wave Money is the leading mobile financial services provider in Myanmar, serving millions of customers monthly across a network of more than 64,000 agents.

Previously Brad headed mobile money and innovation for Visa in Asia Pacific, North Africa and the Middle East. He has also been an emerging payments consultant to World Bank Group, working in a variety of markets including the Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh and China. Prior to Visa, Brad was the founding Managing Director of Wing Cambodia, the first bank-led mobile money deployment in Asia. Brad has worked in financial services for 18 years, and is well known in the emerging payments and mobile money industry as a delivery focused executive.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University of Australia and post-graduate business qualifications from the University of Queensland.

Kate Lazarus is IFC’s Senior Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisory Lead for Asia Pacific based in Thailand. She supervises a team of 9 regionally based staff and numerous consultants to deliver ESG advisory to private sector and governments.

In 2019, Kate was named one of 70 most influential who have had or will have, the biggest influence on the hydropower and dam industry in recent years and in the near future by International Water and Power Magazine. In 2018, Kate received the 'Top 30 of IFC Individual Corporate Awards' for staff whose exceptional contributions, collaborative behaviors, and innovative thinking have consistently resulted in the achievement of significant milestones to help a sector or country reach market potential for private sector investment.

She developed, manages and leads an advisory programs on environmental and social (E&S) standards in the hydropower sector, cross-sectoral client-facing E&S programs, and Landscape-level projects to pave the way for private sector investment. Kate led the development of the Myanmar Hydropower Strategic Environmental Assessment. She developed the ground-breaking industry-led Hydropower Developers’ Working Groups in Lao PDR and Pakistan and the Myanmar Hydropower Developers Association. She co-developed Powered by Women initiatives in Myanmar and Nepal, to promote gender diversity in the renewables sector. Her expertise focuses on water governance, multi-stakeholder dialogues, renewables, CIAs, human rights/conflict, environmental flows, and benefit sharing. She has lived and worked in Asia for 20 years.

She is the editor of the book Water Rights and Social Justice in the Mekong; lead author of the chapter on Negotiating Flows in the Mekong in the book Politics and Development in a Transboundary Watershed: The Case of the Mekong River Basin.
