The Last Overland Expedition - Dinner at the Pegu Club
One of the 20th century's most iconic and challenging road journeys is being recreated in 2019 by Grammar Productions.

The Oxford & Cambridge Far Eastern Expedition, 'The First Overland', made history in 1955, when a team of young adventurers drove from London to Singapore, a feat which had never been done before. The young group inspired generations of adventurers through their extraordinary endeavour, showing many remote corners of the world on film for the first time.
'The Last Overland', will see the original 1955 Series One Land Rover ('Oxford') and member of the original team, Tim Slessor, joined by award-winning documentary maker, Alex Bescoby and an experienced team, return the car by the same means it came, driving from Singapore to London. The team will forge a new path through some of the densest jungles, highest mountains and most arid deserts on the planet, recreating the epic journey from 1955.
The Last Overland Expedition will leave from Singapore on Sunday August 25th 2019, aiming to arrive in London 100 days later. On their journey they will be passing through Myanmar, in the same car that made it's last visit 63 years ago.
We invite you to join the team for an exclusive evening of fine-dining and tales of adventure, at the The Pegu Club, a recently refurbished Heritage Building with a history of its own. First established in 1882 the dining room is now named the Prince of Wales Great Hall, in reference to the hosting of Edward the VIII during his tour of Burma and India in 1922.

Ticket price will include cocktails on arrival and three course dinner by Chef Orng accompanied with wine and beer; after dinner a cash bar will be available.
This event will initially be limited to invited guests only. Following the initial round of invitations, it will be opened up to general sale, dependent on the remaining available places.

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place at least 48 hours in advance. All no-shows will be charged the full ticket fee of $90.
