The Professional Women's Network is excited to invite you to join our speaker and networking event to celebrate International Women's Day on March 7, 2024 - all welcome - no membership needed!

We're delighted to welcome our first speaker, Eekku Aromaa, the Secretary General of Naisasialiitto Unioni from Helsinki. Finland is often seen as one of the most progressive countries globally in terms of gender equality, women's rights and diversity in the workplace. Eekku will be sharing how Finnish women brought their issues to the national agenda, creating their own path to success. What were the obstacles and how did they overcome them? Are there learnings to share?

We then welcome our Myanmar speakers who will expand the discussion by sharing strategies and tactics from both their corporate and individual perspectives.

Pepsi Myanmar's CEO, Lin Thandar Aung, will talk us through PepsiCo's global and local programs designed to empower women in the organisation, including details of comprehensive mentoring and training programs.

We then welcome Ma Khine and Ma Yin (Bridge Creative) to the stage to discuss Diversity & Inclusion. They will present learnings from Myanmar's young women and ask - do our fundamental attitudes and bad habits sometimes preclude true inclusion in the workplace? And how can we change these patterns that are often ingrained since childhood?

We complete our speaker segment of the day with a uniquely personal and amusing discourse on gender and inclusion from Yu Wai Maung entitled "The Elephant in the Room" [I've broken more chairs than dreams, and no amount of Keto is getting me into that mini skirt – looks like the real elephant in the room is my battle with the furniture and office couture, but NOTHING to do with my self-worth.]

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place at least 3 days in advance. The Chamber reserves the right to invoice all no-shows for the entry fee which will need to be settled prior to attending another British Chamber event.
