Myanmar Agriculture: Past, Present And Future


The agriculture sector has always traditionally been Myanmar's main industry, employing over half of the labor force. Although this key industry has added significant contributions to Myanmar's total gross domestic product (GDP) throughout the years, it has been effected due to complications from COVID-19 and the political and economic uncertainty of Myanmar.


In this webinar, our expert speakers from Myanma Awba and Maha Microfinance will present in two parts -


The first part be presented by Mr. Thadoe Hein, Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Myanma Awba Group and will focus on:

  • Myanmar Agriculture Industry before COVID-19 & current economic situation
  • Current Challenges
  • Future Outlook: Opportunities

The second part will be presented by Mr. Rajesh Malhotra, CEO of Maha Microfinance and will discuss financing difficulties faced by Myanmar farmers and potential impact on livelihood.
