Financial Education Series 2 : Financial Statement Analysis


This training course is brought to you by the British Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Institute of Business and Investment Management (IBIM).


Trainer Aung Thein Tun (Chartered MCSI) is a leading finance and investment education provider and an accredited training partner of the following UK-based professional bodies - Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Intuition.


This course is designed to provide you with essential knowledge to get into finance. It is a practically oriented course and you should have your laptop ready to calculate and analyse in real-world.


You will cover the following topics over nine sessions -

  • Key financial principles, quantitative methods for finance, measuring risk and return of investments
  • Basic principles of financial statements, accounting standards
  • Understanding the group accounts
  • Analysing the financial statements
  • Understanding and calculation of PV, NPV, IRR
  • Understanding the concepts of free cash flows, EBIT, EBITDA, NOPAT
  • Understanding different types of financial ratios

Following successful completion of the course you will have the option to take a UK CISI Exam for an additional fee.


The course will be run in English Language unless all attendees are Myanmar speaking, in which case it can be delivered in a combination of English and Myanmar. The total course duration is 18 hours and will be delivered over nine weeks, on the below dates. At the end of the course you will be awarded with a certificate of achievement from IBIM which you are able to present to future employees showing your continuing professional development.

You will be sent the link to attend 24 hours in advance, then again one hour before. You must pay for your ticket in advance, or you will not be sent the access link.


If you are no longer able to attend please cancel your place a minimum of one week in advance via email to grace@britishchambermyanmar.com. All no shows will still be charged the entry fee. Places which have not been cancelled will not be refunded.
