Empowering Self-Protection to Boost Confidence and Build Personal Safety Awareness

Our next Professional Women's Network event will be the first in what is to be a series of discussions focusing on women's wellness and welfare in the workplace. Our first workshop is designed to boost self-confidence, and to give you the practical skills and knowledge to build personal safety awareness to protect yourself!

The workshop will deliver a program called 'My Life' which is an active learning and personal development series run by Girl Determined. Their expert trainers conduct weekly My Life courses in offices across Myanmar to encourage, build up and support women in a professional environment; we're delighted to welcome their experienced trainers to lead the four main self-protection activities! These life skills are critical to help you navigate tense or awkward situations and will give you the tools to identify and manage uncomfortable or threatening situations in day to day interactions.

Please note! we are changing up our normal format for this first event - it will be open to women only (there will be no men permitted entry to the room during the event), and will be in Myanmar language. It does include very light movement, so feel free to wear more casual clothes/shoes (this is not obligatory – we know that you normally go to the office after networking).

For over ten years Girl Determined has been working with girls and young women to build the skills, knowledge and confidence to take hold of their lives and to advocate for a future that does not limit girls and women's opportunities. Girl Determined's My Life program is specifically designed to support working women to grow their communication, self-awareness and personal leadership skills.

Cancellation Policy

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place at least 3 days in advance. The Chamber reserves the right to invoice all no-shows for the entry fee which will need to be settled prior to attending another British Chamber event.
