Climate & Sustainability - Risks & Opportunities for Myanmar's Financial Sector

"There cannot be a healthy, happy and prosperous future for people on a planet with a destabilized climate, depleted ocean and rivers, degraded land and empty forests."

Marco Lambertini

Director General, WWF International

The finance sector needs to get on board to help tackle the root causes of the climate and nature crisis. It is critical that the sector moves away from short-term interests and towards long-term value creation and sustainable recovery which benefits people, the economy, and the planet.

Join us as we discuss these issues with practitioners and experts from a cross section of Myanmar's financial services industry, with perspectives from banking, insurance, microfinance and other sectors. Learn about the challenges and benefits for financial institutions in Myanmar, as they start and continue their sustainability journey.

BCCM and WWF-Myanmar are holding this event in conjunction with the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) taking place in Glasgow, UK, from 30 October to 12 November 2021.
