Proposals That Work
Proposals that Work is a skills based workshop for participants with an intermediate level of English (CEFR B1) or above. This means that the workshop doesn't focus on learning English as a language, but on the skills needed to write effective proposals. To do this, participants will look at what a proposal is and how it differs from a report. Once this is established, they will focus on proposal schema and how to organise a proposal as well as what information to include. Finally, they will focus on creating persuasive proposals by adapting their writing to the reader as well as anticipating and countering objections. Throughout the workshop participants will be working together to brainstorm, share and provide feedback. They will also be looking at example proposals and writing their own. The course works to develop participants confidence in their ability to write persuasively, understand their readers and their expectations, and sell their ideas to the people that matter.
