Recent Developments and Ongoing Challenges

The last year has seen significant advances in corporate governance and transparency in Myanmar, including the new MyCo register, and a number of new requirements from DICA and the Central Bank on Directors Duties, and disclosure.

Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business' fifth 'Pwint Thit Sa' (Transparency in Myanmar Enterprises) report published 30 April 2019 examines these developments as well as providing its regular benchmarking of the disclosure practices of almost 250 Myanmar companies. This breakfast briefing will discuss its findings, and the current state of corporate disclosure in Myanmar.
